Living the 'Island Life'

Spring to life with the new Spring Summer 2011 collection from Michelle Therese Atelier, as it launches exclusively in Mode a la Miro this week. Get ahead of the fashion pack this season with a whole new collection of breezy bright loungewear and eveningwear. With hemlines rising higher and fabrics becoming softer – you know that Summer is calling and you can’t help but indulge in the beautiful ‘Island Life’. As the season’s heat rises; so do hemlines. Inspired by the Island life with a touch of ‘Nautical glamour’ Michelle Therese has used a burst of blue, aqua, orange and white in its design colour palette. From hot beach shorts to bright three quarter pants, the collection has a number of key pieces to turn heads this season.

Speaking to Mode a la Miro on the collection, Michelle Therese said “Braiding was used to emulate the ropes used in sailing, and the flounces to look like the waves in the ocean. This was the main design element. I love colour blocking - this was one of the most fun collections I have ever done, and since it’s for the PLAY line I had more freedom to design fun flirty outfits”. Michelle also adds that all pieces could be mixed and matched easily with a wide range available at the flagship store in Colombo 07

Mode a la Miro loved the white short and tank combinations along with rope detailing on feminine tops and dresses. Make a great splash this summer!
